چکیده
Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) are a family of bio polyesters synthesized by many types of bacteria as carbon and energy reserve materials, Anderson AJ et al (1990). PHA can be divided into three classes depending on the number of carbon atoms in their monomer units; shortchain-length (SCL), medium-chain-length (MCL) and longchain-length polyhydroxyalkanoates (LCLPHAs), composed by hydroxyacids. Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) represent a large family of intracellular bacterial storage polyesters with wide range of material properties permitting applications as biodegradable and biocompatible thermoplastics and elastomers, Guo-Qiang Chen (2011). PHA combine properties of thermal processibility, biodegradability, biocompatibility and sustainability, they have attracted attention from fermentation, International Journal of Current Microbiology and Applied Sciences ISSN: 2319-7706 Volume 4 Number 6 (2015) pp. 1159-1165 http://www.ijcmas.com

Isolation, Identification and Partial Optimization of Novel Xylanolytic Bacterial Isolates from Bhilai-Durg Region, Chhattisgarh, India
Background: Plant biomass and agricultural waste products disposal is a serious problem in agriculture based countries. These wastes, usually rich in xylan can be satisfactorily converted to industrially important and useful products by efficient biotechnological application of potent xylanase producing bacteria which generally have high temperature and pH optima....
متن کاملThe ability of marine Bacillus spp. isolated from fish gastrointestinal tract and culture pond sediment to inhibit growth of aquatic pathogenic bacteria
In this research, antagonistic activity of two Bacillus species isolated from digestive tract of marine fish and culture pond of sea cucumber was studied. The inhibitory activity of Bacillus spp. isolates against some common pathogenic bacteria of fish was assessed using the agar diffusion method. The strain of B. subtilis G024 exhibited antimicrobial activity against Vibrio anguillarum, V. har...

متن کاملScreening of Alginate Lyase-Producing Bacteria and Optimization of Media Compositions for Extracellular Alginate Lyase Production
Background: Alginate is a linear polysaccharide consisting of guluronate (polyG) and mannuronate (polyM) subunits. Methods: In the initial screening of alginate-degrading bacteria from soil, 10 isolates were able to grow on minimal medium containing alginate. The optimization of cell growth and alginate lyase (algL) production was carried out by the addition of 0.8% alginate and 0.2-0.3 M NaCl ...
متن کاملScreening and identification of biosurfactant producing marine bacteria from the Caspian Sea
Marine microorganisms have unique physiological properties and novel metabolites such as biosurfactant to live in extreme habitats (e.g. oil polluted environment). The aim of this study was to characterize some biosurfactant-producing bacteria collected from sediment and seawater samples from the Caspian Sea. These bacteria were isolated using enrichment method in ONR7a medium with crude oil as...
